customer needs. We are currently seeking to recruit to the following
posts based at our Frenchay
Campus.
* Faculty Librarian (Bristol Business School)
We require a graduate qualified librarian for this post supporting
the Bristol Business School. You will be responsible for the
development of collections, and liaison with the Faculty to whom you
will provide a range of services. This will include delivering a
comprehensive teaching programme to ensure that students develop
appropriate library and information skills. You must have at least
two years experience in an academic library. A background relevant
to business and management would be an advantage. To succeed you
must also have sound professional skills and be able to demonstrate a
commitment to exploiting information technology. Salary will be in
the range £18,200 - £30,600. (Ref L/255/MA)
* Information Support Librarian
Working as part of a central team within the library, you will be
leading the library’s IT training programme, the co-ordination and
development of library publications and the production of statistical
information from IT systems and services. You will generally help to
underpin current library procedures and processes with IT solutions
and ensure that library staff are confident in their use of such
systems. You must be a graduate qualified librarian with at least
two years experience in an academic library or large public
organisation. You will be aware of developments in the hybrid
library and be committed to the development and operation of IT
systems in support of teaching, learning and research. You must be a
good communicator with experience of team and committee work, who has
a strong sense of customer support. You will need to be
enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible and a positive leader. Salary
will be in the range £19,000 - £22,100. (Ref A/256/MA)
* Assistant Librarian
We are seeking an Assistant Librarian to work in our User Services
Team Your responsibilities will include the management and
development of services on a day to day basis and staff supervision
as well as providing reference and lending services to students and
staff from the eight faculties based at Frenchay. Duties will entail
working with the Information Support Team to develop the library
management system, Unicorn, to meet the needs of the service. You
must have a professional qualification in librarianship or
information science, and at least six-months post-qualification
experience. Sound reference and enquiry skills are essential.
Supervisory experience and experience of working in an academic
environment are desirable. Salary will be in the range of £13,100 -
£18,200 with chartered staff entering the scale at a minimum of
£16,000. (Ref A/257/MA)
