Of course it is. Even if the viewer is not aware of the fact
that it is the actual footage of the assassination, the
nonprofessional quality of the film stock, camera movements,
framing etc. gives it an eerie, uncanny quality.
Just look what Bruce Conner made with documentary footage
in _Report_ (12 min., 1986). I saw it last eleven years ago, so I am
not sure whether he used the actual Zapruder film, but I remember
that the structure and composition of his film has a strong
impact, both emotionally and as art.
