"Crash" is the pefect union of eros and thanatos...sex and car crashes...the
self-destructive tendency is epitomized by the ending.
J.G. Ballard makes it even more explicit in the novel.
"Dead Ringers" is a perfect example of ambivalence and displacement as
well...see my article on it in "Film and Philosophy", Vol. III. I'll send
it to anyone who wants a look.
