Dear collegues,
First of all I want to thank all of you who responded to my questions regarding
the perception of cleanliness, back in june. The company involved, however,
has not yet shown an intention to engage in research. So I'll keep all your
clues safely stashed untill they do.
This time I have another question I hope you can help me with. In the past
there has been a discussion on user needs analysis (or UNA) as a first step
in the design cycle. This mainly concerned questions such as: what are user
needs (as opposed to wants) and how can they be established in a valid and
reliable way. John Zeisel, Robert Sommer and Jacqueline Visscher (a.o.)
have given these matters some attention in text books.
I've been looking for more recent materials on the issue (in relation to
the built environment), theoretical as well as methodological; but I don't
seem
to be able to find much of interest. I need the input for the preparation of
a new course.
So I hope you can give me some hints...
Thanks in advance!
Sincerely
Wim Heijs
