The NARST Ad Hoc Committee on Environmental Science Education is looking
for contributions to a 2001 NARST conference symposium entitled "The
Relationship Between Science Education and Environmental
Education" (urgent deadline July 28th).
The follow topics are examples of contributions that would be pertinent to
this symposium (please do not feel restricted to this list): The
relationship between science and EE with regard to K-12 standards,
integrated learning, the role of science teachers, the role of teacher
educators, the integration of the natural sciences and social sciences in
the context of EE, pedagogy, curriculum, student and teacher perceptions
of the relationship between science and EE, epistemology, research and the
implications of this research, theoretical frameworks, etc. Please note
that participating in this symposium does not count toward the one-time
authorship limit in the general NARST proposal guidelines. You may thus
participate in the symposium and submit a paper.
As a symposium participant you would have a short, designated amount of
time to present your work. Instead of preparing a paper, you would need to
provide a summary of your work (with references). A summary from each of
the participants will be included in a paper disseminate during the
session.
If you are interested in presenting as part of the symposium, please
provide Yvonne Meichtry ([log in to unmask]) with the following information
