Two (2) Research Studentships (for holders of at least a first degree)

Duration: Maximum 36 Months
Both posts are connected to he Signal Processing group at TCD. One studentship
will be in the Dept. of Statistics and the other in the Dept. of Electronic and
Electrical Engineering of Trinity College, Dublin.
The studentships are in order to undertake work within a
prestigious European Research Network for content based data retrieval.
[MOUMIR: Models for Multimedia Information Retrieval]. The successful
applicants will work with teams from INRIA (French National Institute of
Research in Computer Science and Control), Nice; University of Cambridge UK,
Ben Gurion University, Israel, University of Thessonaliki, Greece, RTP and
INESC, Portugal.
The Video Signal Processing group at the Electronic and Electrical
Engineering Department of Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland has funding for
two research studentships for undertaking work within a prestigious European
Research Network for content based data retrieval. The successful applicants
may choose to work toward the PhD degree. Applicants must have a good first
degree or MSc involving Signal Processing or Computer Science or other related
area. Fluency in English is essential.
The stipend is a maximum of 10 K IR per annum (depending on experience) with
additional relocation and travel expenses, as well as College fees
(calculated on basis of 1999/2000 academic year).
