A postdoctoral position is available for EU nationals or those
resident in the EU (living outside Ireland) to undertake work within a
prestigious European Research Network for content based data retrieval.
[MOUMIR: Models for Multimedia Information Retrieval]. The successful
applicants will work with teams from INRIA (French National Institute of
Research in Computer Science and Control), Nice; University of Cambridge UK,
Ben Gurion University, Israel, University of Thessonaliki, Greece, RTP and
INESC, Portugal.
Duties involve project management and algorithm development for video
processing. Applicants must have a Ph.D in Signal Processing or Computer
Vision or other related area. Experience in image or video processing is
essential. The candidate must have experience in C/C++ programming on PC or
Unix based systems. Web design experience is an advantage. Fluency in
English is essential. Salary is maximum of 21K IR/yr (depending on
experience) with relocation expenses and a yearly travel allowance for
return to the home country.
