Dear Colleague
As you may know from an email earlier this month, we are running a series of
workshops to set the scene
for enhancing learning and teaching in statistics and OR in UK HE
Institutions. Our first workshop was at
the RSS in London at the beginning of the month, and the second is next
Weds, 18 October, at the University of York.
Details are given below.
If you would like to come to York next Weds and help with developing the
strategy for the forward, please email me.
(The 3rd workshop will be in Glasgow on Friday, 27 October, the fourth on
Friday 3 Nov at Bristol and the fifth at Nottingham on Thursday 9 November.
All these will also start at 1pm)
Thanks
Neville Davies

By 'popular' demand we shall start our second workshop at
1pm, and also keep the 'presentations' short so that we can have a good
discussion at the end. The timings in the table are very rough. In this
workshop our aim will be to explore and discuss ideas, mainly to establish
some ground rules for how we can help the UK HE teaching community in
Statistics and OR.
Also we shall report the feedback we obtained after running
the first workshop at the RSS in London on October 3.
Please note that some of the material, although authored by
colleagues in brackets, may be delivered by others!
