Dear Colleague As you may know from an email earlier this month, we are running a series of workshops to set the scene for enhancing learning and teaching in statistics and OR in UK HE Institutions. Our first workshop was at the RSS in London at the beginning of the month, and the second is next Weds, 18 October, at the University of York. Details are given below. If you would like to come to York next Weds and help with developing the strategy for the forward, please email me. (The 3rd workshop will be in Glasgow on Friday, 27 October, the fourth on Friday 3 Nov at Bristol and the fifth at Nottingham on Thursday 9 November. All these will also start at 1pm) Thanks Neville Davies Professor Neville Davies Director, Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education Deputy Director, LTSN Centre for Learning and Teaching in Mathematics, Statistics & OR Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham NG1 4BU phone: 0115 848 4476 fax: 0115 848 4771 http://science.ntu.ac.uk/rsscse **************************************************************************** *************** Learning and Teaching Support Network (LTSN) Mathematics, Statistics and OR Network Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education, Nottingham Trent University Universities of Glasgow and Birmingham Discussion workshop 2 at the University of York Room V113, Vanburgh College see the map at http://www.york.ac.uk/np/maps/hes.htm Statistics and OR Activists and University Contacts for the MSOR Network Tuesday 18 October 1pm By 'popular' demand we shall start our second workshop at 1pm, and also keep the 'presentations' short so that we can have a good discussion at the end.
