Lectureships in Statistics and Medical Statistics
Two permanent posts are available from from 1 October 2000
although later starting dates may be negotiable. Both
appointees will join the large Statistics community
within the department. One post is attached to the Statistics
group, the other to the Medical Statistics Unit.
Applicants for either position should be active in
methodological and/or collaborative research.
Specific duties will vary according to the principal
activities of the two groups. Within the Statistics group,
these mainly involve university teaching, whereas within
the Medical Statistics Unit they may include contributions
to a statistical consulting and training service for NHS staff.
The two groups together form one of the strongest statistical
research groups in the UK, with 12 academic staff and about
20 research staff and research students. For further information

Salary range: 17,328 - 30,065 (pay award pending)
