Training Fellowship in Medical Statistics

Salary on the RA1A scale (16775 to 25213 pounds per annum)
Applications are invited for this three-year NHS-funded position.
The position is available from October 2000, or later by mutual
agreement.
The appointee will join the Medical Statistics Unit, which forms
one section of Lancaster University's large and highly rated
research group in statistics. The fellowship will provide a
training in the role of statistical methods in biomedical
and health services research, working under the supervision
of senior academic staff in the Unit.
Applicants should be qualified in mathematics/statistics
at least to first degree level, and ideally should have a higher
degree in a discipline relevant to biomedical or health services
research. If the appointee does not already have a higher degree
in statistics, they will be encouraged to study part-time for
a Medical Statistics MSc, MPhil or PhD as appropriate during
the course of the fellowship.
