Hi Rob
Most modern analysers have a facility to measure (semiquantitatively) the
heamolysis as well as Lipaemia and icterus. Roche 917 has and it will print
out in absolute units or as a 1+ 2+ etc if you wish. As far as I know Roche
may well have a visual comparison chart.
Usually the company who sold you the analyser come and do the necessary set
up and then you can subject it to you internal evaluation protocols if you
wish. You can then publish a protocol chart for BSM's to follow. e.g. if the
haem index is 2+ don't report K or LDH etc.
Regards
Tim

Subject: Haemolysis Chart
I am trying to get hold of a wall chart for our specimen reception area in
Biochemistry
which displays different grades of haemolysis 1+, 2+ etc to give some kind
of
uniformity to reporting in this very subjective area!
Anyone know where they can be obtained from?
