Dear Robert
We perform it in peritoneal fluid and pleural fluid, our method is adapted
to run in a Cobas Mira, but we have a lot of problems with this test. The
main problem is concerning the stability of enzime and substrate and first
of all the reprodutibility.
The first use of ADA in Brazil was for diagnosis and prognosis of
tuberculosis (mainly in pleural fluid) and after the clinicians used to
diagnosis Infectious Mononucleosis too, but is a very inespecif test with a
lot of brekpoints in the method, and with difficult lecture of results (need
more standartization). After some trys to correct this (including
conversation with Prof. Macedo from Salvador-Bahia that was the pioneer to
study ADA in Brazil) we are deciding to descontinue this test. Them if You
have some tips I'll be very glad to receive this too.
Sincerelly
