I'm sorry if I confused any non- English -speakers. I chose biro
and hoover (vacuum cleaner) because they are British words
as is LFT.
Perhaps I could add another two penn'orth to the debate. If my
car has a wheel missing it's function is impaired. If liver cells
are lost the function of the liver is impaired.
The Americans use hepatic function panel as their version of
LFT: ALT, albumin, alk phos, AST, total and direct bilirubin,
total protein (CPT code 80076). CPT = American Medical
Association Common Procedure Terminology.
