Did you collect parallel data on CK MB ( preferably mass )? Or do you have any data on the time between onset of symtoms and sampling? In our CC article we described that the apparent loss in heparin-plasma appear greatest in very early samples ( which also show increased CK MBmass ) and that the losses decrease with time. At http://www.clinchem.org you may also find Supplemental Data with 8 more patient time curves, serum with and without added heparin. All show the same tendency. In that context the results from Monklands hospital with 9% loss could fit with a more recent MI (and high CKMB) than the sample with 0-4 % loss (lower CKMB)? Our 15% was the average of all samples ( spanning all times after symtoms ).
