In our laboratory we have offered a urine microalbumin analysis
(Beckman Array) in addition to a urine protein assay (J&J Vitros). We
report an albumin creatinine ratio and 24 hr albumin excretion. I am
concerned that the ACR reference range <1.1 g/mol creatinine) is not
approppriate in pregnancy and may give the impression that a
significant proteinuria exists. If you have studied U-ALB ranges in
pregnancy I would be happy to hear from you, Regards,
David Burgess, Royal Darwin Hospital. [log in to unmask]
