ASMCF Conference, 31st August - 2nd September 2000.
The annual conference of the Association for the Study of Modern and
Contemporary France will take place at the University of Leicester,
Beaumont Hall, on Thursday 31st August - Saturday 2nd September 2000.
The theme will be the crossing since 1945 of economic, political,
cultural and linguistic boundaries.
The first aim is to examine the impact and perception of France beyond
l'hexagone and the import into France of foreign goods, people and
ideas. The second is to discuss similar issues within Francophone
countries.
Visiting speakers will include University researchers from France,
Quebec, Switzerland, Australia and the UK.
Conference fee £145 (full rate), £130 (members ASMCF). Students will
need to apply to the ASMCF for funding, entry is free for the unwaged
who will also need to apply to the ASMCF.
