Colleagues,
Would you please circulate the following job announcement notice in your
departments? Thanks very much.
Postdoctoral Fellowship: Neuroimaging in Human Neuroscience: The Departments
of Neurology, Psychiatry, and Radiology at the Indiana University School of
Medicine are collaboratively offering two 24-month fellowships in the
application of functional neuro-imaging to applied human neuroscience.
These full-time research positions are ideal opportunities to learn
techniques in positron emission tomography, functional MRI, and image
analysis, as well as the problems to which they apply. Active interests in
the departments include Alzheimer and related neurodegenerative diseases,
stroke, and epilepsy (Neurology), depression, bipolar disease,
schizophrenia, and anxiety disorders (Psychiatry). Applicants should have a
Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent, training in neuropsychology, cognitive
neuroscience, neuroscience, or related areas, and a strong desire to pursue
research careers using functional imaging. Applicants should express
interest in a primary departmental affiliation (Neurology or Psychiatry),
although we anticipate significant cross-departmental collaboration.
Applications should consist of a curriculum vitae, statement of interests,
and three supporting letters of reference. Applications should be sent to
the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
Applicants with primary interests in the Department of Neurology should send
materials to the attention of: David A. Kareken, Ph.D., Section of
Neuropsychology (RI 5999C). Those with primary interests in Psychiatry
should send materials to John J. Nurnburger, Jr., M.D., Ph.D., Institute for
Psychiatric Research (PR 119). The application process will remain open
until our anticipated decision date in late fall.
