Subject: Innovative's Bristol office
At the last User Group committee meeting, we briefly discussed
Innovative's Bristol office, and its possible role in supporting the UK
user community. Innovative as a company seems a little unsure about
how things will develop, while the Bristol staff are of course still
developing their expertise in Innopac, and also have existing
commitments to sites with the Libertas system.
Ideas about Bristol which were bandied around at the Committee
meeting included:
Use of Bristol as a training base - so that training can, when needed,
be conducted outside a live system, or on modules not currently
installed on site
Running a Helpdesk, with expert back-up which is available during
the European working day (the one problem with the California
helpdesk is that, if the problem cannot be solved by the night-staff,
then you have a 6-8 hour wait)
Sales activities, including demo facilities (e.g. how do we find out what
the new Millennium Sales and Acquisitions modules look like!).
Please could you email your ideas and comments directly to me
(rather than the list) by March 17th, and the Committee will then
discuss and take forward. We'll also circulate a summary to the list,
but all replies will be treated as strictly confidential.
Thanks.
Michael
