Conference delgates may be interested to have a look at the timelines pages
recently added to the BBC web site at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/history/timelines.shtml
They have tackled the issue of regional variation by producing separate
timelines for England and Scotland (with Wales and Ireland promised later).
Each timeline is divided into periods (with a few names I hadn't thought of
- Anglo Norman for example) each of which has a date range. Detail pages
give examples of things that were happening in each period.
Any thoughts and comments?
