Just to clarify the situation, FISHEN are currently developing the Timeline
thesaurus. This is available in 'alpha' version from the mailing list
archive, filename timeline.pdf. The plan is to conduct a formal peer review
of a 'beta' version starting next month (all fishen list subscribers will be
invited to participate). It will be the agreed outcome from this peer review
excercise that will 'supercede' existing work, and form part of the
INSCRIPTION terminology framework that FISHEN are putting together.

Subject: Re: new version of paper on ArchTerra prototype thesaurus
Hi all,
I have rewritten my 'technical note' on 'A Multilingual Thesaurus
Application
for Internet Archaeology' and made it available at
http://odur.let.rug.nl/arge/Work/thesaurus.html. It will be published as a
paper
in the proceedings of the CAA 2000 conference. There's a separate file with
screendumps from the prototype to download (the prototype itself is
authorised
access only). If you're interested, I'd like to hear your comments, so
please
mail me about it with any questions or remarks you may have.
A note on the appendices: I guess Jeremy Oetgen's original paper and the
RCHME
periods list are 'superseded' now by Jeremy's most recent proposal
'timelnjo.rtf' at mailbase.ac.uk/lists/fishen/files/. Could/Should I include
a
part of that file, as an example of ongoing work, as an appendix to my note?
Thanks,
Martijn van Leusen
