Dear Friends,
I am trying to locate literature that deals with the use of
content analysis methodology within EE research. As I
understand it, this methodology falls within an
interpretivist paradigm, rather than a positivist /
empiricist approach, and deals with the analysis of
concepts, narratives and lengthy discourses that might
otherwise be difficult to capture or analyze using
survey-based techniques. Does anyone know any projects or
studies that deal specifically with the use of content
analysis procedures such as concept mapping ?
I am also very interested in locating literature that deals
with the issue of 'environmental interpretation'. I am
particularly interested in debates that deal with how
educational resources should be designed in ways that are
sensitive to different cultural interpretations of nature.
It seems that while some of the literature (at least in
South Africa) does mention the concept of environmental
interpretation, no detailed explanation is given. Is it a
developing discipline or field ? What does it have to offer
in studies of resource development ?
