Dear Penny,
Sorry to have missed you at the conference this year
(Susie's defence costs have prevented much travel this
summer). However, I'm very interested in the "Solo
librarians" discussion list and/or conference- the
up-coming redundancies here look like I'll be running
the show single-handed (as well as one-legged) from
the Spring term. We're gradually resorting to on-line
librarianship, and issuing books via email, but any
support from outside would be very welcome. Thank
goodness for our Rainbow Technique shelving!
So, please keep me informed. Do reply off-list
(address below)- it's amusing but a tad annoying when
listers send messages to everyone, isn't it?
Hope to see you soon- perhaps at the Mailbase Users
Seminar in August.
Yours,
Mavis

Dear Emma
It was good to see you at the conference. Thank you
for all your hard work.
I look forward to meeting you again in Germany.
Someone put a message on lis-charter yesterday asking
if there were any solo
librarians out there, I told her about our conference.
I wonder if there is
a place for a discussion list just for us, on the
other hand we probably
need to look outward rather than inward, tho' as a
sort of support group,
its nice to know there are others in the same boat.
best wishes
