Ros,
We've had this model of self-check at Glasgow for about a year now. We also
had difficulties setting them up. The dreadful response time (30-60 seconds
to read a barcode) was finally resolved when someone (a 3M rep I think)
changed the setting from Telnet, which is the default, to Sockets.
We also had problems with the self-checks when we installed Release 2000
updates A & B. All is fine again with update C.

Subject: 3M self-check stations and III
We are just in the process of setting this up, and are having some
problems.
We have the 3M 6210 model and I would be very grateful if anyone who
uses this model with INNOPAC could get in touch with me.
In particular, the installing 3M technician was expecting to use sockets
rather than telnet and I am not sure if III support this. If telnet is
used, were they are any special set-up things that had to be done on
port 5550 to get this to work - what exactly is the local 3M setup
required.
Any information or contacts will be gratefully received!
Many thanks,
Ros Pan,
