See John Morrall and Dan Bolger, "The Relationship Between Downtown Parking
Supply and Transit Use," ITE Journal (www.ite.org), February 1996, pp.
32-36. John Morrall and Dan Bolger are located in Canada, but their study
included U.S. cities also.
Another good article is Richard Willson, "Suburban Parking Requirements; A
Tacit Policy for Automobile Use and Sprawl," Journal of the American
Planning Association, Vol. 61, No. 1, Winter 1995, pp. 29-42.
Have you seen our paper "Pavement Busters Guide"? It includes various
strategies for managing parking to encourage reduced vehicle travel. It is
posted at our website: http://www.vtpi.org.
