Recently the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) has
provided funding for the research programme CESAR: Climate and
Environmental change and Sustainable Accessibility of the Randstad. In
this programme we have a PhD position available. The project has
duration of four years; intended starting date is approximately 1 April
2010.
Brief project description “Impact of climate change on mobility and
residential choices”: The aim of this project is to systematically
analyse the impact of climate change on activity and travel patterns and
for choices for residential location(s) and car ownership. The first
stage of this project will be focused on an analysis of the National
Travel Survey in combination with meteorological data. In the second
stage of the project a fieldwork will be conducted.
Applicants should have a master’s degree in Geography or relevant
cognate discipline (or be very near completion). She/he shows enthusiasm
for travel behaviour research and quantitative analysis and communicates
easily in English, both verbally and orally.
