Young professionals and scientists presenting papers at the PEDS 2003
conference will receive full funding
----------------------------------
Dear Collegue:
I have the pleasure to inform you about the new and promising
developments concerning the joint IWA-IAHR
conference PEDS 2003
(Pumps, Electromechanical devices and Systems, applied to urban water
management). The event will be held
next April in Valencia
(Spain).
As advanced in the call for papers, and within the GYPSI program
(Growing and Young Professionals Support
Initiative), 40 young
professionals and scientists will get support to attend PEDS 2003.
Funding comes from both the
organization of the conference and
the European Union (through the high level scientific conferences
program). The funds will be
distributed as follows:
- 30 participants from the EU or associated countries will receive full
travel and accommodation
expenses, including the conference
fees
- 10 participants from other nationalities will receive full board
accommodation and a 50% reduction in the conference fees
In order to be considered "gypsies", participants will have to present a
full paper at the conference,
and be born after 1969 (included).
The International Scientific Committee of the PEDS conference will
select the participants that will
receive the support, by choosing
the most relevant contributions to the conference according to the
presented papers.
Due to the late allocation of funds by the EU, the organizing committee
has decided to extend the period
for abstract presentation
until June 30th for all participants, and until July 31st to all "gypsi"
eligible papers.
Full details on the basis for the GYPSI program can be found at the twin
conference websites:
www.iwa.upv.es
www.iahr.upv.es
With my best personal regards,
E. Cabrera Jr.
