how likely is this to work? I'm supposed to be targeting a release of
SPLAT-VO tomorrow, but I guess I can wait if you're fairly sure about a
successful build on Monday. Failing that I'll think about a plan B (the
major pain is the various platform builds needed).

That may work, but given the current state (looking at the messages from
poor Brad), I'm not confident. There's also the problem of
testing/displaying Java applications remotely. These are native Aqua, not
X11, so that cannot be done (as far as I know). So a volunteer with a
working system would be best.
