Well, then it is probably as the error message tells you.

There may be two likely reasons for this:
- the field of view of your images is too small. In this case, you need to
acquire images with a larger field of view in order to obtain
normalisation parameters. You can then apply these parameters to the other
images you have.
- the coordinates of the origin in your images are way off from AC - then
SPM can't find a solution and you need to reorient your images before. You
can use CheckReg with the "reorient images" plugin for spm_orthviews to
bring the image in rough register with the template. Have a look at the
SPM extensions web page for a link to the plugins.
