AIMS AND CAUTIONS
The Project aims to help make the 'WHAT PACKAGE?' decision processes more
informed by offering a range of events which hope to strike a balance
between 'experience' and 'training'. The 2 day course in April offers the
chance to experience a selection of leading software packages, whilst the 1
day courses are intensive enough to be described as training events - how to
get started - and to get a broad view of how the more complex tools of the
software will serve you over a longer period of familiarisation.
It must be stressed that the software training events are designed to
familiarise the user with the software and its range of tools in an
economical time frame- so that a researcher can evaluate how AND IF the
software can serve the researchers own methodological needs. The courses and
indeed the software packages themseleves are not designed to create or teach
a methodology. The software programs provide strategies and clerical tools
to help manage, visualise and test ideas, the nature of which should come
from methodological considerations underpinning participants and their
projects' disciplinary and epistemological background.
MOST IMPORTANT: Increase the project's efficiency on your behalf ......
NAG!!
