There are several possibilities Liz. The first is that the address you joined under has subtly changed. When that happens, you tend to still get incoming mail, as your server knows your old address. You can't send to the list, as the mailbase server doesn't make the connection between the old and the new.
Second, Hotmail can be awkward, as it is Web mail, not SMTP mail. That can lead to server wobbles, especially if the mail you are sending is HTML format.
Third, if your email goes out with advertising banners, they can be interpreted as SPAM, in which case the mailing may be refused by the server.
Can you send me one of your error messages? That might help me.
You could also try joining again. If that works, let me know the old address and I will remove it.
