I could not believe my eyes and ears last night
watching Berlusconi broadcasting non-stop himself on
one of his private TV, saying 2ù"What did they hope
to obtain, the The Trade Unions marching in Rome,
what!? The government will do what it has to do: they
protest, they protest in 3 millions! What do the hope
to obtain. It just remains for me to give them soon a
real reason to go on strike..."
And this is the faithful translation of Berlusconi' s
speech, delivered in a style of Italian unsuitable to
a "Capo del Governo" of a nation that has such a
history of intellectual politic, using a language that
was vulgar, threatening, rude...a language of an
ignorant illiterate as he is....negating in public the
right of strike, the meaning of mass protest, the
function of Trade Unions , those Trade Unions which
represent the only worth aspect of our labour
situation.
Worse times to come for Italy: here is not sure that
the recent assassination of one of Berlusconi's
collaborator for changing the law 18 protecting labor
and workers, was acted by the Brigate Rosse: the
situation is unclear.
