The interesting thing is that, if we are only allowed to renew our
registrations relating to our current area of practice then none of us
will be able to do much more than hand out the tea or clean the
toilets!!

Hi,
We have never been asked to cover wards but we have also been informed
that in the event of a flu pandemic then it will be "all hands to the
pumps". Likewise, there has been no mention of updating our practice to
accommodate advances in clinical science and nursing care. Personally I
feel it would be quite dangerous to put me in any senior position on a
general ward and I suspect I would be better in charge of a mop than a
ward full of vulnerable patients!

Hi Glenn
We have never been asked to work on the wards and I would certainly find
it difficult - too long away from front line. Although we have been told
that if pandemic flu evry struck we would be asked to return to
frontline - no mention of update in training etc.

Hello
Can I ask my NHS colleagues if you've been asked to work on wards during
the crisis on beds and to help with staffing levels?
If you have been asked, have you accepted or refused? Have you been
offered training/updates?
Or is this not a global issue affecting OH staff in the NHS?
regards
Glenn
