as many of you might know AddictiveTV being artists/producers also
have done share work on curating and brought AV discussion to wider
audience last June with Optronica festival at South Bank.
personally i found the aspect of AV works most interesting in context
of popular culture and how this kind of work not only have ability to
capture imagination of wider audience but in a sense also affects works
of video artist that may be are more comfortable in gallery
environments or may be also other way around like in case of
AddictiveTV or Light Sergeants who are moving from VJ mixes to more
narrative works.

Thu 9 Mar - Sun 30 Apr
Gallery
Open daily 12 – 10pm
BackStrikesEmpire, a twin screen installation, is part two of Igloo’s
moving images trilogy that uses dance and customised design software to
reflect the interaction between people and landscape and to illustrate
the interpretation of the human imagination on the environment.
Shot on recent travels in Western Australia and New South Wales, the
images and choreographed narratives interweave to challenge notions of
the reality of nature and how it can be influenced by individual
experience and collective mythology.

World leading audio/visual artists Addictive TV give a rare performance
of their acclaimed live cinema project, The Eye of the Pilot.
Remixing the incredible 8mm colour archive of French airline pilot,
Raymond Lamy, filmed during his travels in the 1950's, The Eye of the
Pilot is a musical and visual travelogue with an original soundtrack
featuring live guitar from Alejandro de Valera.
The journey takes viewers to places such as Karachi, Ivory Coast,
Saigon, Tahiti and San Francisco, capturing the romantic innocence of
the world at a time when traveling with a home movie camera was still
highly unusual.
Recent high profile Addictive TV’s projects include an audiovisual
performance live on the fly-tower of the National Theatre building and
a commission by EMI to create a video remix of Blondie’s ‘Rapture’ with
