LABORATORY COORDINATOR
1. Laboratory coordinator's tasks
We are looking for a laboratory coordinator (LC) responsible for developing
the inter-operativity of Aalto University's Media Factory (MF) laboratories.. LC will
plan the cooperation between existing laboratories in Aalto University in frame of MF
and work to integrate the laboratories to MF education and research. For this purpose
LC will gather information of existing laboratories and investigate the
possibilities of sharing resources as well as plan the guidelines for use and access to labs. LC will also coordinate and plan the acquisition of new laboratory equipment.
Laboratory coordinator will develop the frame for the "hands on with mind
on" -
method of MF education by participating in the planning and realization of
MF
courses.
LC also will participate the meetings of MF board and work as secretary for
the meet-
ings if needed.
Laboratory coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the linking of
MF media to
the MF laboratories. Hereby, the specific focus will be on producing
contents for MF
media in service of MF education as well as planning laboratories'
information and
workflow. LC also will participate in the planning of cooperation with
partners beyond
the university context.
Laboratory coordinator will be responsible for the laboratory budget of MF.
The appointment is a fixed term appointment for the period of

2. Faculty / Recruiting unit
Laboratory coordinator will be appointed to Aalto University's Media
Factory, which
is coordinated by the School of Visual Culture the University of Art and
Design Hel-
sinki. However, the recruited person can be
situated also at the Helsinki
School of
Economics or the Helsinki University of Technology.

3. Qualifications required for laboratory coordinator
The tasks of laboratory coordinator require master's degree as well as
familiarization
with the field of tasks.
In evaluating competence, we will take into account the applicants’
achievements in
research, their achievements in developing the field, their publications
and qualifica-
tions, as well as other proven theoretical and practical experience of the
field.
In evaluating teaching skills, we will take into account studies
in
education, practical
experience of teaching, the ability to produce teaching materials, other
merits
achieved in education.
The tasks demand good knowledge of Finnish university context and
capability to
collaborate and communicate in English.
4. Salary
The task specific salary of laboratory coordinator is based on level 5 of
the demands
level chart for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of
Finnish uni-
versities. According to this system, also a work performance specific
salary (max 46
% of the task specific salary) is paid. In the beginning this part of the
salary will be
16 %. The work performance will be evaluated within the first six months of
em-
ployment. In the beginning the total salary will be 2926,70 .

EDUCATION COORDINATOR
1. Education coordinator’s tasks
We are looking for an education coordinator (EC) responsible for
development and co-
ordination of Aalto University’s Media Factory (MF) education. EC will
teach and plan
new educational contents and structures. EC will work as a course
coordinator for MF
courses and will gather knowledge of possibilities of integrating the
already existing
courses in TaiK, HSE and TKK and facilitate the collaboration of
media-related educa-
tion personnel in Aalto University.
EC will plan the new Media Factory MA
programme
and will take part in the planning of the doctoral school.
Education Coordinator will participate the meetings of MF board and will
work as sec-
retary for the meetings if needed. EC will work as an information officer
in matters of
education inside Media Factory and will plan the student admission. EC will
participate
in the planning of cooperation with partners beyond the university context.
Education Coordinator is responsible for the education budget of MF.
The appointment is a fixed term appointment for the period
