Dear all
I know natural historians have the best sense of humour in the museum-world
- so this might be of interest...
A once in a lifetime opportunity to see your museum colleagues doing stand
up comedy. Our live and uncensored format offers a humorous take on the
workings of museums - including the stuff that doesn't make it into the
journals...
Staff from UCL Museums and Collections – along with other specialists and
professional comedians – present a night of intellectual comedy on themes
such as archaeology, biology, art, history and collecting, as part of Bright
Club, the thinking person's variety night. The line up includes
Steve Hall (We Are Klang)
Robin Ince (9 Lessons and Carols for Godless Children) Mark Carnall (Grant
Museum of Zoology) Subhadra Das (UCL Museums) Debbie Challis (Petrie Museum
of Egyptian Archaeology) Steve Cross (Bright Club) Joe Flatman (Institute of
Archaeology) Ruth Fillery-Travis (Institute of Archaeology) Chiara Ambrosio
(Science and Technology Studies) Anne Welsh (Information Studies) Strawberry
and Cream

The Grant Museum of Zoology will be closed to the public for just under 8
months, from Wednesday 30th June. During this period, we will be unable to
accommodate any visitors to the museum or collection, although our programme
of adult evening events will continue.
We will re-open on 17th February 2011 in a new space. Up until this time, we
will endeavour to respond to all enquiries with our usual efficiency, but
please be aware that our access to phone and email will be intermittent at
best. Regular updates on the big move, and news of the grand re-opening,
will be available on http://www.ucl.ac.uk/museums/zoology and the UCL
Museums & Collections Facebook page and Twitter feed.
