engage Cymru forthcoming seminars : Galleries, Arts and Health will take place on 12th July at Ruthin Craft and 13th July National Museum & Gallery, Cardiff. 10.30am - 3.30pm.
Seminars are aimed at arts and health professionals and will explore the benefits of creativity on health and wellbeing, drawing on the findings from engage Cymru recent research projects working with older people. Other speakers include Director Arts for Health, Manchester Met University, Clive Parkinson 'From Invest to Save to a Manifesto for Arts and Health' - reflecting on a 3 year period of research and development that explored impact of creativity, culture and the arts on public health. He will present this alongside current developments in the field and the ongoing development of a manifesto for arts and health. We will also be joined by researchers Anna Goulding and Andrew Newman from Newcastle University who will share their research on older people, identity construction and contemporary visual arts.
