The DFG-funded Research Training Group GRK2112, "Molecular Biradicals:
Structure, Properties and Reactivity" at the University of Wuerzburg
offers 14 positions for Ph.D students in all areas of chemistry and in
molecular physics. Candidates with an interest in either synthesis,
spectroscopy and/or theory are invited to apply.
The goals of the research program are:
- to study the relationship between the molecular structure and the
properties of biradicals.
- to understand the formation and photophysics of charge-separated
biradical states and long-lived triplet states.
- to investigate experimentally and describe theoretically the structure
of excited electronic states of biradicals and their chemical reaction
mechanisms in the gas phase and solution.
Further information on our research can be found on the webpage

Salaries are in accordance with TV-L. Appointment is initially for one
year, with a possible extension to three years. The project will start
on October 1st, 2015. The search will continue until all positions are
filled. Requirements are an excellent master of science (M.Sc.) degree
in Chemistry or Physics and very good German or English skills.
Qualified female candidates are encouraged to apply. Applications from
qualified disabled candidates will be preferred in case of equal
qualifications. The University of Würzburg is committed to provide a
family-friendly workplace. Please send your application, including CV,
university degree certificate and/or transcript of records, and a letter
of motivation as a single pdf file to Ursula Rüppel,
