SDG 2004: A conference of the Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group of the RSC.
University of Leicester, December 19-21, 2004
The conference will begin on the evening of Sunday 19th December with
two tutorial lectures aimed particularly, but by no means exclusively,
at graduate students. This year our guest speakers and their talk titles
are:
Dr Paul Monks (University of Leicester), ‘Probing the atmosphere from
space’
Prof. Mike Robb (Imperial College London, UK), ‘The role of conical
intersections in non-adiabatic chemical reactivity’.
Prof. Tim Zwier (Purdue University, USA), ‘Laser probes of the potential
energy landscapes and conformational isomerization dynamics of flexible
molecules’,
Dr Martina Havenith (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) ‘From H-bonds to living
cells Challenges for IR laser spectroscopy’
Dr Jonathan Underwood (Open University), title to be confirmed.
On Monday and Tuesday the meeting will involve the traditional mix of
invited lectures together with both oral and poster contributions. We
will do our best to accommodate as many contributions into the
conference programme as possible. We would like to encourage all
delegates - especially graduate students and postdocs - to submit titles
for presentations (particularly the 20 minute oral contributions).
The meeting will close at about 16:00 on Tuesday.
If you plan to attend the meeting please complete a registration form
and return it to the address given below. An electronic version and an
online version may be found on the internet at:
