Dear All,
I would like to announce a 3-year PhD Studentship opportunity within our group, co-funded by the Intel Corporation and Merck Group, and it's available immediately (latest by September 2024).
The project focuses on AI-supported atomistic simulations of surface chemistry, underpinning the atomic-scale processing of materials in nanoelectronics applications. As a PhD candidate, you will delve into cutting-edge computational modelling methods, such as Density Functional Theory (DFT) and machine-learning interatomic potentials (MLIPs), while also contributing to their development.
This is part of an innovative research programme that unites research groups from Eindhoven University of Technology (Erwin Kessels and Adrie Mackus) and L3S Research Centre (Sören Auer and Jennifer D'Souza). Our collective goal is to develop AI-compatible databases of atomic layer processes tailored for semiconductor applications, pushing the boundaries of technological advancement.
