I don't know how helpful this will be, as place of residence doesn't
necessarily indicate pace of work, but from the census records I have the
following bal maidens on our database:
1841 3 tin dressers Boscoppa Downs
1851 3 tin dressers Boscoppa Downs
1861 18 bal maidens, mostly dressing copper, Boscoppa Downs and Boscoppa
Common
1871 1 tin dresser, Boscoppa Downs
1891 1 tin dresser, Boscoppa Downs

Can anyone shed any light on the engine house at Boscoppa Mine, near St.
Austell in Cornwall - what it was, when it was erected, or who built it,
etc? If anyone has any knowledge of this engine and/or the mine I would
great appreciate hearing it - I have drawn a blank.
