This message has recently also been sent to all NAMHO contact email addresses that I have and to others interested in mining history. If you receive this message more than once please accept my apologies, but its best if as many people as possible are aware.
Peter Claughton has already informed the mininghistorylist about the postponement of the NAMHO AGM, but this message contains additional info.
THE NAMHO AGM WHICH WAS TO BE HELD ON 10 MARCH IN THE LAKE DISTRICT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE FOOT & MOUTH SITUATION. However, to the best of my knowledge, other mining meetings / functions as listed below are still going ahead:
Saturday 10 March
MOLES AGM and buffet / slide show (in the evening)
Sunday 11 March
Open day at Threlkeld Mine (inc free lunch & book launch)
Friends of St. Aidan's Dragline meeting
The surface / underground mine visits have been changed, but there should still be some visit(s) available.
The NAMHO Secretary is sending a notification of the postponement of the NAMHO AGM to all NAMHO representatives by post; also the mining history list has already been notified yesterday by Peter Claughton.
NAMHO apologises for any inconvenience this may cause to some NAMHO representatives (I have booked two rooms in a guest house in Kewsick). We do not yet know where & when the AGM will be rearranged for.
Yours
Roger Gosling
NAMHO Treasurer
