I agree with Peter. They (another they, admittedly) sold the Rover group
for a tenner!
It is not possible, however unpopular the sentiment, to preserve
everything. If they sell it they absolve themselves of any
responsibility, and lay onto the successor organisation a whole raft of
cost responsibilities. And whatever the estimeate for conservation at
teh current rates, double, treble or quadruple it. Think Wembley
Stadium, the Olympics, the Dome as just some examples.
Whomsoever takes this on will need a bottomless pocket.
