Subject: FW: Final call for papers for BSHS Conference 2006
This is the final call for papers for BSHS Conference 2006. The full call for papers is reproduced below and please note the deadline for submissions is 16th January 2006.
British Society for the History of Science Annual Conference
University of Kent, Canterbury
7th -9th July 2006
After extremely successful meetings in York, Liverpool and Leeds, the BSHS
conference moves south to the picturesque surroundings of University of Kent.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside and a varied coastline, the University
of Kent offers a modern campus set in over 300 acres of parkland on a hill
overlooking the ancient City of Canterbury with a wonderful Cathedral.
Papers are invited in all areas of the history of science, technology and
medicine. Proposals for themed symposia with independent organizers are
particularly encouraged and will be given priority. Postgraduates are urged
to put papers forward for a postgraduate workshop session or posters for a
specified area at the conference with a question and answer session. There
will also be a session devoted to online resources and we welcome proposals
in this area.
BSHS subsidies are available for all student members to help with the cost
of registration and accommodation. Students may also apply to the
Butler-Eyles Fund for assistance with travel costs. More information is
available from http://www.bshs.org.uk/conf/butlereyles.html.
Abstracts of papers (max 250 words) should be sent by 16 January 2006 to
