Early career networking event for Social Scientists
Tuesday 18 October 2011
Newton Park, Bath Spa University, Bath<http://www.bathspa.ac.uk/contact/map-newton-park.asp>
10.30am - 3.00pm
FREE REGISTRATION
Following previous very successful one- and two-day events for early career Social Scientists over the last two years, we are now running this one-day event for Social Scientists.
The event will be of particular interest to recently-appointed teaching staff, post docs and post-graduates with teaching responsibilities. The emphasis is on addressing practical issues and the realities of balancing academic roles when people might be located either in specialist subject or multi-disciplinary departments.
The indicative programme has been developed from feedback given by participants at previous events and is designed to provide opportunities for networking and sharing experiences. There will be no PowerPoint presentations or lengthy input from facilitators. Rather, we would like participants to bring their own good ideas, issues or problems around the three main themes - learning and teaching, e-learning and career development.
The event is free to attend will be facilitated by Professor Ranald Macdonald, C-SAP Senior Associate: Professional Development, together with Mark Doidge, (Exeter University)
