RESEARCHERS NEEDED
As part of a major project reviewing 25 years of Channel 4, the BFI is looking for researchers who, as part of their studies, can view and document holdings of important Channel 4 programmes held in the BFI National Archive. Please contact us if you are an academic or postgraduate researcher who may be interested in undertaking this work. The work is unpaid but, as well as having free access to the material, you will have the opportunity to present a paper on your research at a major academic conference to be held at the BFI in November 2007, using clips from the collection.
Over the summer we have already had some very successful collaborations with academics on this basis and now have details of the content of episodes of The Media Show and Out on Tuesday/Out. However many other key programmes need to be researched in this way, including:
The Bandung File
Right to Reply
The Tube and Whatever You Want
Union World
Irish Angle
Diverse Reports
Successful applicants would view the material on BFI premises and document the contents so that the programmes can become a useful scholarly resource. BFI staff will then catalogue it on our systems.
