We would like to invite you to our MeCCSA Postgraduate Network event, Challenges and Changes in Academic Publishing, on Wednesday 5th March 2014, at the University of Sussex. The MeCCSA PGN in collaboration with the Public Culture Hub have organised a workshop chaired by Kate Lacey (for PhD students) and roundtable discussion on academic publishing, chaired by Prof. David Hendy with Prof. Gary Hall, Fern Riddell, David Berry, Catherine Grant and Felicity Plester (all welcome).

Challenges and Changes in Academic Publishing

Postgraduate Workshop, 2.30pm - 3.30pm, followed by a coffee break.
A workshop aimed at postgraduate students that will focus on the basics of getting published while conducting doctoral research. The workshop will address doctoral researchers' anxieties about publishing by offering practical guidance on ways to disseminate doctoral research in Arts and Humanities (including Media Practice), the impact of the REF and how to respond to the changing publishing environment.

Academics and publishers that are disseminating research in new ways will address the Challenges and Changes in Academic Publishing. Each contributor will respond to the title for 10 minutes, this will then be followed by a round table discussion and questions from the floor.
