Hi Danny
Rather a late response I'm afraid, but possibly of help ...
Not sure how you are building this - whether it's a heavyweight server side app with lots of coding, or something really simple client side directly using an API feed and some javascript.
When we did the latter we obviously couldn't put a fully authenticated API call in the actual page, so what we did was to pull in the API call to our server using a simple cron/scripted wget and store it locally in a publicly accessible area on our site. We then referenced the local xml file from the page. Doing this every half an hour saved API calls to Flickr, improved performance, and after a few problems with failed calls we also scripted it so that if it failed it just used the old copy until it could update itself properly. Potentially you can also use this to concatenate feeds to get around the 500 limit on what is returned.
A bit quick and dirty, and possibly not what would work for you, but I thought I'd share it anyway.
On the other hand, I wonder why 43 of your images are failing safe search?
Regards, James

Subject: Help! Flickr API conundrum....
Hi
This is a slightly desperate plea for help with the Flickr API for an
application that has to be ready for a press view at 10am tomorrow, so
any thought you can devote to it will be very gratefully appreciated....
When I look at my Flickr stream for images tagged 'object', I get 267
results:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/wellcomecollectionthings/tags/object/
however, if I try the same search via the API, I get only 224 results:
http://api.flickr.com/services/rest/?method=flickr.photos.search&api_key
=730e87f0c0a1b19e587ca1f8b57974df&user_id=52767375@N04&tags=object&per_p
age=500
(I'm searching the photostream of the same account for images taggged
object)
The global settings on the account I'm searching gives permission for
3rd party searches; individual images are all freely searchable; but no
method of searching for them seems to reveal them
Is there any other reason why Flickr might be hiding these images from
the API but not elsewhere?
Thanks very much in advance for any light you can shed on this...
Danny
