EXPANDING HORIZONS - Making use of the new Information Technologies 19
July, 26 July, 2 August, 9 August,
16 August
Following on the success of last year's Expanding Horizons course the
Institute of Information Scientists brings you its 1999 round-up of the
latest in developing digital technologies for information managers. A
package of five one-day workshops, running on Mondays from 19 July to 16
August, this is the annual review in the Professional Development Study
series for information professionals who wish keep abreast of developing
technologies from Internet search engines to knowledge management tools.
Facilitated and mediated by course leaders Phil Bradley,William Hann and
David Bawden, all well known and respected authorities in their fields, this
is an unparalleled opportunity to catch up on the state of play in the
technologies that information professionals must master if they are to
advise colleagues and clients.
Back by popular demand, this programme of workshops is brought to you at
only half the going commercial rate (£110 a day for IIS members, and only
£130 for non-IIS members). For those who would like to combine business
and pleasure, the Monday slot means non-London residents could take
advantage of cheap weekend travel to combine a weekend's leisure with some
serious professional development. The course can be taken as a whole, or
you can sign up for just one, or a combination of days.
