Hi Scott
Thanks for your reply, the Bygone Con sounds great!
That's fine no need to raise with the Loc Scot Committee, we just wanted to make sure we weren't going rogue as we're considering moving our existing programme from March to May. I think Perth has marked May in recent years too?
In East Dunbartonshire our Local Studies Officer produces an annual programme in March with local history exhibitions, talks and walks. They expanded it from a week to a month in recent years to make it easier to schedule and avoid any event clashes. The programme is produced in partnership with our local history groups (and their umbrella group the East Dunbartonshire Heritage & History Forum) which helps with the workload. We also include our museum colleagues and anyone else in the wider Culture Team who may have something on that month related to local history.
You can see our previous programme here https://www.edlc.co.uk/sites/default/files/documents/heritage-arts/local-history-month-2023-web.pdf
Many thanks
Janice
